Cooking is not Babe's claim to fame; in fact, she counts the kitchen as her least favorite spot in the apartment (unless she's standing in it while uncorking wine or spooning peanut butter out of the jar). She's more of a microwave gourmet/takeout queen. But there are so many inventive and fabulous new vegan cookbooks out this year, Babe might just have to overcome her mageirocophobia. Being a Florida native, she's particularly excited for the first cookbook ($19.95) from Fort Lauderdale's Sublime, which includes yummy recipes like Frito Misto (basically a spicy cauliflower tempura) and Coconut Cake. Lovers of old school Southern food will appreciate Bryant Terry's Vegan Soul Food Kitchen ($18.95). For those looking for creative raw cuisine, pre-order Pure Food & Wine's Living Raw Food ($29.95). Because we all need to indulge from time to time, cupcake mecca BabyCakes is revealing some of its sought-after trade secrets on May 5 with the launch of its cookbook ($24). And Babe can't neglect a major vegan constituency -- students -- who will likely welcome PETA's Vegan College Cookbook ($14.95), which has a wide variety of affordable recipes.
