Nourishment
November 20, 2008

Babe has many new things to be thankful for this year, including a real kitchen in which she can actually turn around without tripping over her tail. To celebrate such a luxury, she feels inspired to whip up a Thanksgiving feast fit for a self-cleaning stove. Ambition steers Babe to VegWeb, where there are are vegan recipes galore. But when reality (and laziness) sets in, she'll most likely slip over to her local health food store for a faux turkey dinner from Field Roast Grain Meat Co. or Tofurkey. If she's thinking she wants to avoid leftovers, however, Babe might order a single-serving vegan dinner from Whole Foods (scroll down to prix fixe offerings). She'll wash it all down with a pumpkin martini -- one part Tru organic vanilla vodka, one part pumpkin liqueur. Dessert will be a simple pumpkin "concrete," made with vanilla soy ice cream, a few tablespoons of organic pumpkin pie mix and a hunk of baked pie crust, topped with Soyatoo and pumpkin-flavored syrup.
